Trip Description

Indian Garden is one of the most spectacular summer backcountry destinations in Grand Canyon. A lush Oasis near the South Rim it is the perfect place to spend a few summer nights below the rim and soak up the grandeur of Grand Canyon away from the crowds. Nestled in a tight valley between enormous Redwall Limestone formations, the Indian Garden campground is shaded from the heat of the canyon and has a cool stream running right through the center. This trip features two nights below the rim, a stunning sunset at Plateau Point overlooking the Colorado River, and a day hike to the shores of the Colorado and Phantom Ranch. What's Included
The cost includes the following: a certified Grand Canyon hiking and backpacking trip leader; permits and fees; most gear including a backpack, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, tent, trekking poles, crampons (when necessary) and eating utensils; breakfast the first day through lunch the last day prepared by your guide; emergency communication abilities via a satellite phone or SPOT GPS locator; company-issued first-aid kit; and transport from Flagstaff to the trailhead and back to Flagstaff.

What's Not Included
Beyond what we provide, there are some items that you're responsible for. Please take the time to procure high quality clothing and gear items, as they'll have a considerable impact on the enjoyment of your trip. We ask you to provide the following gear: clothing, rain gear and footwear (your .pdf trip packet will have a detailed clothing list), 3 1-liter water bottles, a headlamp or flashlight, sunscreen and bug repellent, toiletries and personal items, and extra batteries or your camera.

Reservations and Payments
We require a $250 per person deposit to confirm your spot(s) on a trip. We ask that the balance be paid within 60 days of the first day of the trip.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Grand Canyon Hikes reserves the right to cancel trips. In this event we will issue a full refund of the total amount paid. Grand Canyon Hikes is not responsible for additional expenses including - but not limited to - airline tickets, lodging fees, and clothing/equipment purchases.

If a trip is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control (such as extreme weather, forest fires, public land closures and federal government shutdowns) a trip credit equal to the full amount paid will be issued.

If you cancel or leave a trip:

  • 60 days or more before the first day of the trip, we offer a full refund minus a $50 per person administrative fee.
  • Between 59 and 30 days before the first day of the trip, we offer a 75% refund of the trip cost.
  • Between 29 and 15 days before the first day of the trip, we offer a 25% refund of the trip cost.
  • Less than 15 days before the first day of the trip, or after the trip has begun, we do not offer a refund.
