This is an amazing area off the beaten path. We go down the South Kaibab Trail 5 miles to a remote campsite. Huge panoramic views and a pristine campsite await you. We will explore this area that was heavily populated by Native Americans and go on short day hikes. On day 2 we can day hike the 3.5 miles to the river and stay on the beach all day. Feel free to shoot down to Phantom Ranch for a lemonade or t-shirt. At the end of the day we will head back up to the campsite. Remember, you only have day packs on for day 2. Day 3 is more exploring in Cremation canyon and our trip back up to the rim. This trip gives you the most time at the Colorado River and we really enjoy sleeping in the remote area as apposed to Bright Angel Campground and all its services.
